Farewell Message
Dear fellow citizens/compatriots,
Dear American friends of ours,
I am departing from my position at the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Miami, which I started on January 10, 2022, to take up my new duties in Ankara.
Throughout my tenure, which I undertook with great honor, my colleagues and I made every effort to provide effective and efficient service to all of you.
I worked diligently to ensure that the Consulate General could work closely with you, hear your requests and demands, and strive to meet them. The kind words we heard from you gave us strength, and the suggestions and criticisms you occasionally shared were guidance for better service. The strong support I received from every segment of our community was my most significant pillar in fulfilling my duties.
I took great pride and joy in seeing all Turkish citizens come together under our shared values of Atatürk, love for the homeland, the nation, and the flag, as well as the fundamental values of our Republic and our national and spiritual heritage.
Both under the auspices of the Consulate General and through events organized by you on our common values in our consular jurisdiction, especially in Miami, various activities strengthened the sense of unity, integrity, and solidarity within our Turkish community. I made every effort to be with you on every occasion and opportunity. I strived to ensure that the compassionate hand of our state was felt by every segment of our community and aimed to be inclusive and unifying.
In this regard, I would like to express my gratitude for the sensitivity you have shown, your close and effective cooperation and the friendship, to our valuable civil society leaders, members, and you, dear citizens, as well as to our American friends. Please forgive me if I fell short in any way.
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you for your close and warm interest, love, friendship, and support, both to me personally and to the staff of our Consulate General. I wish all of you healthy and peaceful days.
With respect and much affection,
Feyza BARUTÇU ALTUĞ
